In recognition of the fifth anniversary of the viral hashtag, me too. International is reminding the world that the movement to end sexual violence is alive, well, and very necessary. We call upon the ‘me too.’ community to illustrate its collective power and join us in celebrating five years of going Beyond the Hashtag!

me too. International celebrates five years of groundbreaking progress since #MeToo went viral. It is time to move Beyond the Hashtag, dig deeper, and go a step further toward action. #MeToo entered the global zeitgeist as a call to a culture that enabled harm, brutality, and danger through gender-based and sexual violence. Five years later, through major political wins, cultural shifts, survivor empowerment, intentional healing, and collective action, advancement towards a world with abounding safety gets closer each day.
